Atlantis Returning to the Vehicle Assembly Building
It is a slightly sad morning for NASA as the Space Shuttle Atlantis has left the launch pad to begin its long trek back to the Vehicle Assembly Building. If everything had gone according to schedule, Atlantis would be servicing the Hubble Telescope right now. The antiquated Hubble had a significant failure shortly before the shuttles launch. The result of the failure is that the shuttle’s mission will be delayed until next year as NASA engineers figure out what type of additional repairs will be needed to restore functionality to the device.
The next shuttle to launch will be Endeavour which will make its move from its current launch pad, 39A, to the newly vacant launch pad, 39B, in preparation.
